I just want to
tell you how wonderful the Assistwear gown has been for me. I have
received many "get well" gifts from friends and family, such as flowers,
candy, cookies, etc., and although they have all meant the world to me,
nothing has been as wonderful as the Assistwear gown. I can't imagine
going through this without it. You provide a wonderful product with a
very personal touch.
I hope none of my friends ever have to go through this, but if they do,
I will purchase this gown for them and I will know that I have done the
best thing I can do to help.

I can not possibly thank you enough for the immeasurable help you have
been to me as I faced breast cancer. Your incredibly inventive hospital
gown was a lifesaver for me as I was recovering from mastectomy and breast
reconstruction surgery. I can’t imagine how a person copes with those
ghastly drains without your gown. Not only did I wear it in the hospital,
but literally, where ever I went for almost a month before the last stubborn
drain was removed. Only one who has experienced any kind of surgery that
necessitates body drains can imagine what a revolutionary, patient-friendly
invention you have created…Your gown mitigates at least one of the many
aggravations and indignities surgery patients must face and greatly encourages
that very necessary “positive attitude” that, we all know, facilitates
a quick recovery.

It [has been] exactly one year since my bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction…
I was delighted to be able to try your redesigned hospital gown last year.
Your gown was comfortable and fit well. The pockets held my drains securely
and kept them away from my skin. I can’t imagine what it would have been
like to sleep or go to the bathroom with six drains pinned to the front
of a generic hospital gown. As you know, the operation is difficult enough…your
gown is a must for anyone having surgery requiring drains.

The gowns are great! I own two, and recommend that your clients buy more
than one in order that there will always be a clean one. The pockets cushioned
the weight of my drains (I had five!). I am a small person, so this was
of great value to me physically and emotionally. Your gowns are easy to
clean and much more attractive than hospital attire. Thanks for helping
to make a very difficult experience more dignified. -

I can’t even imagine how horrible it must have been to have to deal
with those drains before you designed this gown. All the nurses and doctors
who saw me remarked at how perfect the gowns were for this kind of recovery.
I wore the gown to my doctor’s appointments and did not need to change
into their paper gown. The doctors had easy access to examine and treat
me. I even wore the gown into the drug store. When my recovery is over,
I think I will still wear it as a nightgown and for lounge wear. God bless
you and the work you do.

Thanks so much for creating the Transition Gown. Since I learned
about your Transition Gown two days before I was to have surgery,
I was overwhelmed that you personally brought me the gown the day before
I was to have my mastectomy. That's true dedication to helping women with
breast cancer!
When I got to my hospital room after surgery, I immediately changed
into the gown and put the drain into the pocket. The nurses really liked
the gown because it was so easy for them to help me with the drain.
Because the weather was cold when I got home from the hospital, I slept
in a flannel gown with the Transition Gown underneath because I
needed the inside pockets to hold the drain securely. The doctor wanted
me to leave the drain in for two weeks, so I always slept in the Transition
Gown, and it kept the drain secure. Monitoring the output of fluids
was efficient using the Transition Gown and it washed up beautifully
with no ironing.
I also highly recommend your Grosgrain Ribbon Belt for holding the drain
while taking a shower. I cannot imagine taking a shower without it. To
me, it was indispensable!
I hope everyone has access to your Web site with the three pages of invaluable
tips for "Before, During and After Your Trip to the Hospital." Thank you
for all you do for breast cancer survivors.

The daughter of a friend of mine had plastic surgery from Dr. Robert
Clement. She had lost 130 lbs. after a gastric bypass and had three drains
in. When I found out she didn't have one of your transition gowns or the
Grosgrain belt and didn't know anything about your gown, I took my gown
and belt to her. Here is what her mother wrote to me:
Thank you for the wonderful smock and belt you shared with Michelle.
She has used them both so very much and they have been so helpful for
her. She took a shower about 15 min. after you dropped the drain helps
off last Friday afternoon, and told me immediately how wonderful that
simple little belt was. She has worn the smock lots and I have washed
it several times.
Stephanie, Dr. Clement's nurse, said they had about 3 smocks for
patients, but they had not offered us one or mentioned them until we
showed her the brochure and information you gave us. She acted like
she had forgotten to mention them but agreed that they were good ideas.
We let her know how helpful they still were for Michelle and how sold
we were on them. Hopefully, Dr. Clement's office will offer them to
patients with drains in the future. I will get the smock and belt back
to you as soon as she gets this third drain out. She would have really
been tired of the drains if she hadn't had your wonderful helps you
brought her.
